So, you know, you see these companies sort of restaffing themselves, re-engineering how they approach things, rewiring their culture to be leaner, more creative, more public facing, more engaged. Right. KARLO: And then television became really big, and then it redefined themself with home videos. Its really the only thing we have, you know, in the grand scheme that does set us apart. Such an emphasis is important for a number of different reasons. So thats our work. Most of our food products come from the country crops, fish, poultry, you name it and chances are it originated . So if youre coming only to us just for our point of view, youre getting more than that. There are two main reasons for the resilience of small-town newspapers. The year began with bushfires destroying the lives, and livelihoods, of tens of thousands of people. And I do feel that our role is to serve the community, to serve San Diego. It was really easy. Rural newspapers have been closing "left and right" over the past two decades, but it's important to keep them open, especially in communities with schools, according to a column in the Minot Daily News in North Dakota by former lieutenant governor and political-science professor Lloyd Omdahl. And I know from KPBS standpoint, we work on this very much and we have three senior editors that review everything thats going out before it goes out.
